The Bended Elbow is a contemporary hotel and entertainment venue located in Dean Street in the heart of Albury’s CBD.
Spanning two levels, our venue features four distinct dining areas: a Melbourne-style alfresco laneway, a rooftop bar, a fully equipped function area, and a modern bistro restaurant.
The Bended Elbow has been a cornerstone of Albury’s social scene since its opening in 2004, providing a cool, elegant venue for catchups with some great drinks and legendary food.
It’s a chance to meet up with friends over coffee, lunch or dinner. The extensive and reasonably priced menu offers affordability and choice, with some excellent main meal dishes including our famous Parmagianas and slow cooked Pork Belly.
We are located in an historically significant site. The Bended Elbow is housed in a building once home to The Ritz Nightclub, a legendary Albury venue which for many years hosted dances, weddings, balls and other community gatherings.
Throughout its history, the Ritz Nightclub has been a significant venue in Albury, hosting numerous events and dances. In the early 1930s the Ritz hosted popular “old-time dances,” featuring live bands such as Boyd’s seven-piece ensemble.
By the 1950s, the Ritz was still a popular spot for dancing. In November 1950, the North Albury Youth Club announced the resumption of Saturday night dances at the Ritz ballroom.
Much later our building was also home to Abbey Road Fashion, Creamers Art Supplies and Tramp Jeanery. It has grown into a dynamic, multi-level destination.
Its expansion into neighbouring spaces (Creamers Art Supplies) introduced an airy open-roof laneway and to match its stunning rooftop beer garden—a place perfect for soaking up the sun or finding solace from Albury’s temperamental seasons.
Originally conceived as a British Ale House and home to the iconic One Nightclub, The Bended Elbow has evolved with the times but celebrates its own history along with the regions with its decor.
Today, its primary focus is contemporary dining, functions, and events that appeal to all age groups. Live music lovers will appreciate the electric atmosphere of Friday and Saturday nights, while event planners are spoiled with an expansive function room and an award-winning Beer Garden.
